Back to School Ramp Up

The month of September flew by for us! Back to School means it is time for us to ramp back up to provide Sultan Elementary and Gold Bar Elementary with their 62 weekly bags of supplemental food for children in need. These children rejoin the other 88 children on Operation Full Bellies through the summer, bringing our total to 150 each week.

This food is discretely packed in grocery store bags and slipped into a child's backpack to provide that child with 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners and snacks to get through the weekend.

A typical child's bag includes: 2 hot cereal packets, a can of tuna, 1 soup/canned meal, 1 chili/beans, ramen, a can of vegetables, 2 cups of fruit, a milk or juice box, 4 snacks and fresh fruit if available.  Each family also receives a loaf of bread.

If you would like to help fill bellies you can:  donate non perishable food or money, hold a mini food drive at your office/church/school/club or volunteer with us to organize, pack and deliver the bags.
